My friend Georgie was involved in the organising of the People Place Gathering (Yalukit Wilam Ngargee) festival in St Kilda (Euro Yuroke). As ever, I was more than happy to go along and soak it all up. The festival is designed to celebrate Indigenous Bay Culture.

Some of the acts performing were Dieri Band, Patricia Clarke, Dave Arden, Lee Morgan, Rory Ellis, Leah Flanagan, Dan Sultan and Ruby Hunter with Archie Roach.

There were a lot of people coming and going and the many stalls seemed to be doing good business - and the food smelled damn good to me. The weather was a very pleasant 30 degrees.

I was about to have my photo taken with Kathy Freeman but started talking to somebody and that gave her the chance to escape - damnit.

Once again, I took some shots, but my camera struggled - particularly when the light faded.
